Seventeen was meant to be a year of freedom, laughter, and possibility. But overnight, my world turned upside down. One moment I was healthy, vibrant, walking through the hallways of high school like any other teenager, and the next, I couldn’t stand without the world blurring and tipping. The simplest act—standing up—would end with me fading to black. My family and I were suddenly immersed in a whirlwind of hospital corridors, the faint antiseptic smell of waiting rooms, and endless questions with no answers. We clung to each other, afraid, as we faced a mystery that not even the specialist could unravel. From noisy classrooms, to the quiet solitude of homeschooling, my life became regimented of daily medications and the alarming sight of my own reflection of my body unexpectedly growing thinner. In just one semester, my world narrowed, my independence faded, and I found myself grappling with not only my health but also the weight of isolation and uncertainty.
Yet, something was stirring in me. I was no stranger to knowing of God but this would soon become my personal testament. My faith was tested in a way I didn't know was possible for me, a seventeen year old to conquer. After being misdiagnosed with Lupus, I was finally and properly diagnosed with syncope, a lack of oxygen and blood passing through the brain, that led me to become high-functioning with anxiety, I wore it like a badge, proof of the battle I had endured. Months connected to a heart monitor and taking endless dosages of medication I didn't need taught me resilience, but they also taught me patience. I had to be patient with my mind, my heart, my spirit man, my body, and with God.
My first steps back were small but profound. I took my first job, standing behind a cosmetics counter. Thank you Cido!! Placido was the cosmetics manager who hired me at Dillard’s. What started as a simple job post-graduation transformed into what you all see today. A place where I found myself again and grew my confidence and a thriving business. I found beauty in the art of makeup, in the way it empowered others, and in the way it helped me rediscover my strength. That moment was just the beginning, a doorway to a world I couldn’t have dreamed of then but have built step by step since.
Fast forward to today, after the billboards, magazine spreads, interviews, podcasts, and thousands of incredible guests, I’m honored to be here as your makeup artist. You’re in for a true experience—one crafted from years of passion, resilience, and the joy of helping others see the beauty in themselves. Let's create something unforgettable!
